U.S. Energy Development Corporation Celebrates 40 Years of Business Success
Arlington-based oil & gas firm reaches major milestone in 2020
Arlington, Texas – October 5, 2020 – U.S. Energy Development Corporation (U.S. Energy), an exploration & production (E&P) operating company, is celebrating its 40 year anniversary. The firm designs and manages direct investment opportunities for accredited investors and institutional partners. Since its inception in 1980, U.S. Energy has invested in, operated and/or drilled more than 2,400 oil and natural gas wells across 13 states and Canada.
U.S. Energy was originally founded as an Appalachian-based operator in Buffalo, New York. The firm opened its Arlington, Texas office in 2015, which became its headquarters in 2018. The move allowed the firm to be closer to its core operating areas and provides increased access to industry experts and specialized companies on the forefront of today’s technological advancements.
Despite the challenges of low oil prices in 2020 and the impact of COVID-19 on the global economy, U.S. Energy has remained resilient. The firm is currently in the best financial position in its 40 year history and continues to make strategic investments in its future. This year alone, U.S. Energy has acquired more than $50 million in energy assets and significantly increased its borrowing capacity.
“Throughout U.S. Energy’s 40 year history, we have become more innovative and are able to use data unlike ever before to produce results for our partners,“ said Jordan Jayson, chairman and CEO at U.S. Energy. “I am proud of our team and our ability to apply predictive analytics and next-generation technology to provide safe, reliable and repeatable results throughout our drilling and acquisition efforts.”
U.S. Energy’s technical team emphasizes a data-driven approach. This allows the firm to identify patterns, trends and interrelations within oil & gas projects more accurately, while increasing operating efficiency, daily production and total recoverable reserves from its wells.
“Throughout our experience we have found that changing energy cycles have created some of the best investment opportunities,” highlighted Matthew Iak, executive vice president at U.S. Energy (footnote 1). “This year has been a challenge, but we have made the right decisions to position ourselves on an upward trajectory. Our ability to analyze key data has allowed us to react quickly to changing commodity prices and assist in making strategic decisions that benefit our stakeholders.”
U.S. Energy is a leader in direct energy investment design and structure and provides multiple direct investment funds annually which solve specific income and tax planning needs. The firm is credited as an innovator of several new direct investment structures, notably including a 1031 Exchange Fund and Opportunity Zone Fund in energy.
