Mr. Jayson joined U.S. Energy in 2009 and was promoted to the role of CEO in February of 2014. Since joining US Energy he has been involved in business development, information technology, human relations, acquisitions and divestitures. He previously served as Executive Vice President where his focus was on developing operations in core areas and identifying new business opportunities. Mr. Jayson is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. Following his graduation, Mr. Jayson worked in investment banking, portfolio management and trading in both New York and London. Mr. Jayson has earned the designation of Aresty Scholar from The Wharton School of Executive Education and is currently enrolled in the TCU Executive MBA Program (Class of 2018). He is an active member of The Fort Worth Chapter of the Young President’s Organization (YPO), The Independent Petroleum Association of America and The Fort Worth Wildcatters, is a member of the Avon Old Farms National Counsel Committee and is a proud Lifetime member of Trout Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited.

Mr. Walch joined U.S. Energy in 1983 as a geophysicist. In 1990, he was promoted to exploration manager and in 1993, he was promoted to vice-president of exploration. In 1998, he became president, a position he currently holds. Mr. Walch is a past president of the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists (BAPG). Additionally, Mr. Walch is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Houston Geological Society, the Independent Oil and Gas Association of New York (IOGA of NY), the Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association (PIOGA), and the Pittsburgh Association of Petroleum Geologists (PAPG). Mr. Walch received his Bachelor of Science Degree as a geophysicist from Binghamton University.

Matthew P. Iak

Executive Vice President

Mr. Iak joined U.S. Energy in 2005, bringing with him immense success as a Broker as well as in the field of Managed Money where he oversaw clients assets in excess of $1 Billion. Over the last 10 years, Matthew has focused his efforts on the Private Placement, Reg. D space, raising more than $1 Billion for U.S. Energy Development Corporation. In addition to being an active Board Member for U.S. Energy, Mr. Iak is also a member of U.S. Energy’s Gen-2 Leadership and sits as the President for a series of family real estate and real estate management companies. He is also the President and Director of U.S. Energy’s Managing Broker Dealer, Westmoreland Capital Corporation. Always in high demand as a speaker, Matthew is invited frequently to present for a host of organizations within the financial community on oil & gas economics, taxation, and financial planning. Matthew is a graduate of Canisius College and holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 99, 63, & 66 licenses.

Todd C. Witmer

Vice President of Geology

Mr. Witmer joined U.S. Energy in 2001 as a Staff Geologist and was promoted to Senior Geologist in 2005. Mr. Witmer received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Studies, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geological Sciences, and Master of Science Degree in Geology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Witmer is also a member of AAPG, IOGA of NY, PIOGA and BAPG.

Ms. Stewart is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Stewart received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Pace University.

Ms. Stewart joined U.S. Energy in 2008. Prior to joining U.S. Energy, she held accounting management positions with various companies, the latest being an oil and gas distributor. Ms. Stewart is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Stewart received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Pace University.

Ryan O. Holbrook

Corporate Counsel

Mr. Holbrook joined U.S. Energy in 2014. Prior to joining U.S. Energy, Mr. Holbrook served as Corporate Counsel for a variety of oil and gas entities, including oil and gas exploration and production, mid-stream, natural gas marketing, and natural gas liquids processing companies. Mr. Holbrook received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Public Policy from Union College and his Juris Doctorate degree from Albany Law School where he graduated with honors.
